How do i get the best results with semi permanent jet black hair color?

I'm an African American woman and I use relaxers in my hair. I heard it comes out good if you sit under the dryer for about 25 min. But I've colored it twice already and I still see hints of brown showing.How do i get the best results with semi permanent jet black hair color?
Maybe the dye didn't go on alll of the hair strands
