You need just a touch of lightness in the black to make it believable. Go to a really good beauty supply house which sells to the public, and get products to mix, not a homer kit. Also finish it off with a good color sealing conditioner. How to achieve jet black hair color? Which brand is the best?
It's better to go with the darkest brown shade you can find. Using black hair dye usually leaves your hair looking inky and flat, not shiny.
First of all, make sure that your face is suited for jet black hair; everyone does not look attractive with hair that color; try on some wigs before you make your final decision.
Depends on what color your hair is now. If it's any shade of brown then just get a Redken color, try a blue black because the extra blue adds that shine and intensity ( don't worry, it doesnt come out blue). I'm a costmetology student and in my experience, the redken shades eq is the prettiest and most vibrant brand to work with, it has a brilliant blue black! Good Luck!
Definitely don't do a black dye. I did it once and it turned purple. Not a very attractive color.
I usually goto the local cosmetology school, they actually don't use as harsh of products on your hair. If you wanna do it yourself I would go to a place like Sally Beauty Supply. Most coloring products over the counter are more harsh on your hair than chemicals from a salon. Seek help from one who knows.
just dont use garnier. i thought it would turn out great...but it was all...runny and pasty. blegh. lol
